As I checked on Hynlee just now, and heard her stir as I got her meter ready, I realized yet again how blessed I am by this precious child. Losing sleep because I need to test her throughout the night is worth it to have the assurance that she is alive and well. Most parents don't give it a second thought when they tuck their children in each night; they rest peacefully, assuming they'll wake in ...
the morning to a healthy child. Type 1 diabetes isn't always so kind; it can steal my precious daughter away if I'm not alert and attentive. November is diabetes awareness month; learn the signs and symptoms of the onset of type 1 diabetes and if your life has been touched by someone living with this auto immune disease, take a moment to let them know you really do care about them.

Please take a minute and watch a video made for Hynlee. We are fundraising for her a Diabetic Alert Dog. This dog could very well save her life one day. She is currently on the waiting list. http://youtu.be/hdCjaEpHP5A

Diabetes Awareness Month

This morning before school the girls were watching Disney channel. I heard this song and thought of the daily struggle my Hynlee girl faces. Please continue to say a prayer for my baby. Today her endocrinologist called and had added a long acting insulin in the morning.

In honor of Diabetes Awareness month and T1D, this is for you my hero!

"You're Something Beautiful"
Tell me, who's your angel?
Who's your shoulder
to hold your boulders?

Tell me, when it's raining,
who will warm ya?
Who will hold ya?

You might be broken with
all these cracks in your skin.
You might be broken,
that's where the light gets in.

You're something
beautiful, beautiful,
beautiful

You're something
beautiful, beautiful,
beautiful

And I just want
you to know,
you to know, you to know
That you're not alone,
you're not alone. Oh, oh.
